WHY ARE WE CALLED IMAGINE NATIONS YOUTH?
Imagine Nations Youth may seem like a random name for a youth group in Penrith, but there’s no other name that fits our core mission better. The Biblical basis for our mission focuses on making the last command of Jesus our first priority.
[Jesus said] “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
We see everyone from every nation of the world becoming devoted followers of Jesus.
Take a second and picture what this could look like. Billions of people obeying Jesus’ command to love our neighbour as ourselves. Billions of young people serving the elderly. Billions of people transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ through experiencing forgiveness for their sins. When you start to imagine what it would look like if Matthew 28:19-20 if all the nations began to obey the call from Jesus, you can understand that why we’re not an ordinary youth group in Penrith.
We’re as outward focused as we possibly could be because we’re been inwardly transformed by Jesus as much as we can be. And we want our youth to be at the forefront of obeying Jesus’ last command to all of His followers.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Our church has a long history financially and prayerfully supporting a range of partners. We develop relationships with other churches, trusted international organisations, hospitals, builders, families and individual missionaries - some of whom have been partners with us for decades!
Our church website provides lots more detail about the individual works of these organisations. For more information on the different projects, please click here.
